The WRTSL54GS is a router which is state of the art. It is one of the few Wireless-G routers to offer media storage capabilities. This means that the router will allow you to connect your hard drive or other flash based storage devices in order to share files over a LAN or the internet. It can share music, video, or other files. This is a feature which is not offered by routers such as the WRT54GC.
In addition to this feature, the WRTSL54GS also offers you SpeedBooster. This will increase the performance of your network up to 35%. You entire network will be able to share your high speed cable or DSL connection. One of the most impressive aspects of this router is that you are able to add gigabytes of space using the using USB 2.0 hard drives. You can also connect a USB flash disk. This router also comes with a media server which will allow you to stream files such as music, video, and images. It can work with all UPnP media adapters.
The media storage feature is what sets this router apart from other Wireless-G
routers. It doesn't offer RangeBooster, so it will not give you the range
that you will have with routers such as the WRT54GR. It will also not
give you the speed of the WRT54GX4. It offers 128 bit encryption, and
though this will make your network secure, it doesn't offer the 256 bit
encryption given by the WRT300N. It also lacks MIMO technology. Despite
this, the WRTSL54GS is a router which is very impressive, because it allows
you to store large amounts of data.
