WRT55AG Dual-Band Wireless A+G Broadband Router Review

The WRT55AG is a powerful router which has won a number of awards. When you look at the number of features it has, it is easy to see why. This product is a dual band router which offers universal access to Wireless-B, A, and G products. It is able to function with these devices using a tri-standard Access Point system. It can share a high speed internet connection with both wired and wireless products, and it also offers advanced security features such as WPA and WEP encryption.
The two Wireless Access Points are able to use the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz radio bands. This allows it to support both the older Wireless-B products and newer Wireless-G products. This is a feature which sets it apart from routers such as the WRTSL54GS and WRT300N. It also offers you enhanced security features and will keep your network protected at all times. The VPN pass through system is very impressive, and the other features it offers such as the MAC filtering address come standard with many Wireless-G routers.
Though the WRT55AG router is excellent and offers universal access, it
does have limitations. It lacks the portability of the WRT54GS or the
media storage capabilities of the WRTSL54GS model. It also lacks the range
or speed found in the WRT54GX2. If you are looking for a router which
offers universal access, this model is excellent. However, those looking
for range, speed, portability, or media storage features may want to look
at other Wireless-G routers.
