WRT54GX Wireless-G Broadband Router with SRX Review Network Equipment > Linksys Routers > WRT54GX The WRT54GX router is unique within the Wirless-G family of routers. Like other Wireless-G products, it shares a single internet connection and has a 4-port switch. It is also compatible with Wireless-B and Ethernet wired devices. However, this is where the similarities end. The WRT54GX is impressive because it offers SRX technology, which will give you more range and speed than standard routers like the WRT54G. This router is impressive in many ways. While the WRT54GR model offers RangeBooster, it doesn't come with SpeedBooster. While the WRT54GS offers SpeedBooster, it doesn't come with RangeBooster. The WRT54GX router offers the best of both worlds, giving you both speed and range. This router can be up to 8 times faster than standard Wireless-G products. The farther away you are, the better the system works. It will also decrease the number of dead spots in the area. This router is powerful, combining the attributes of both the WRT54GR and WRT54GS into a single unit. Much like the impressive WRT300N, this router features MIMO technology.
Because of this, the data rate is doubled, and this router is not confused
by signal reflections. The router can bypass interference by looking for
the best available channels in the area. This router also offers WPA encryption
with VPN technology. The only thing it lacks is the "good neighbor"
feature which exists with other models such as the WRT54GR. Despite this,
the router is highly versatile, and offers users the things they need
the most, speed and range. |
