WRT300N Wireless-N Broadband Router Review Network Equipment > Linksys Routers > WRT300N The WRT300N router is a powerful product which is 12 times faster than Wireless-G routers. The Access Point which is built into this router is state of the art. Unlike the WRT54G router, the WRT300N uses MIMO technology. MIMO stands for "Multiple In, Multiple Out," and can use numerous radios to generate a fast signal which decreases dead spots. Despite the fast speed of this router, it works seamlessly with Wirless-G products. Another feature which makes the WRT300N stand out from other routers is the high level of encryption offered. Unlike the WRT54GL or WRT54G models, which only offer 128 bit encryption, the WRT300N offers up to 256 bit encryption, making your wireless network highly secure. In addition to this, it also offers an SPI firewall. This is important for protecting your network from being attacked via the internet. While many standard wireless routers may be confused by the reflections of signals, the WRT300N uses signal reflections to enhance the range. The wireless connections maintained by this router can be up to 4 times father than routers such as the WRT54GC model. If you are in an area which is full of signals, the WRT300N offers a
feature called "good neighbor" which will allow you to look
for other wireless objects in the area before using the available radio
band. All of your transmissions can be secured via the 256 bit encryption
system. The SPI firewall can be easily configured via a web browser. The
speed of this router makes it good for video, gaming, or VoIP products. |
